“38th Hong Kong Rowing Championships” was concluded successfully Today

Organized by the Hong Kong, China Rowing Association (HKCRA), the 38th Hong Kong Rowing Championships concluded successfully on 29 and 30 October 2016.  This year, the competitions are very excited, despite Hong Kong, crews from China, Chinese Taipei, Macau, Japan, Singapore and Spain have taken part in the Championships, receiving the overwhelming responses with more than 840 participants.

 

The Gold Medallist in the Open Men’s and Women’s Single Sculls were went to WANG Min Hui from Taiwan Nantou and HUANG Yi Ting, 2016 Rio Olympian from Chinese Taipei Rowing Club.  While the Gold Medallists in the Open Men’s and Women’s Eights were went to Lok Tsui Rowing Club Men (Team A) and Women Team.  The highlight in the Open Men’s Eights was that the Hong Kong Olympics duo TANG Chiu Mang and CHIU Hin Chun and most experience rower LAW Hiu Fung had team up with the 2016 Asian Junior Championships Junior Men’s Pairs Gold Medallist CHAU Yee Ping and the Double Sculls Gold Medallist LAM San Tung as well as other Hong Kong Junior Team members to take part in the Men’s Eights.  They beat the team from National Chi Nan University and won the Gold Medal with Lok Tsui Rowing Club Team B.

 

All the Champions in different events were announced while, once again the Lok Tsui Rowing Clubs swapped most of the Gold Medals in different events and got the overall Champion!

 

Lastly, the HKCRA would like to express our heartfelt for the support from RowSport Asia Ltd, AG Rowing, Blackmores, Ploar, Pocari Sweat, Vibram, Swire Coca-Cola HK, Re:echo, Coppertone, Salonpas, Pomelo Leaf (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Disneyland as well as the Home Affairs Bureau (Art & Sports Development Fund) and Leisure & Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government to make the event a great success.
