Coaching Structure
The HKCRA Coaching Structure is divided into 4 levels, starting from Club Coaching Assistant, upgrading to Level I, II and III. Rowers aimed to become rowing coach must complete the HKCRA rowing coaching course and pass in relevant examination. The course includes part A sport theory, part B, C and part D practical session.
Level III Coach
Coaching for both On-water and land training and courses
- Indoor rowing training scheme design
- On-water training design for competition
- Coaching advance sculling technique by 1x or 2x rowing boat
- Demonstrate advance sweeping technique by 4+ or 8+ rowing boat
- Act as examiner in Galaxy Rowing Course and Youth Rowing Course
Level II Coach
Coaching for both On-water and land training and courses
- Indoor rowing training scheme design
- On-water training design for competition
- Coaching advance sculling technique by 1x or 2x rowing boat
- Demonstrate advance sweeping technique by 4+ or 8+ rowing boat
- Act as examiner in Galaxy Rowing Course and Youth Rowing Course
Level I Coach
Coaching for both On-water and land training and courses
- Provide guidling for the correct indoor rowing skills
- Demonstrate basic sculling skills by mock sculling equipment
- Demonstrate basic sculling skills by reactional boat or Wave Cutter
- Demonstrate basic sweeping skills by mock sweeping equipment
- Demonstrate basic sweeping skills by Novice 4+ boat or 4+boat
Club Coaching Assistant
Assist Level I or above coaches to maintain both on-water and land rowing courses or training
- Assist Level one or above coaches to provide guidiance for correct indoor rowing skills
- Demonstrate basic sculling skills by mock sculling equipment
- Demonstrate basic sweeping skills by mock sweeping equipment
