Booking Guidelines and Procedures

T&C for Board Rowing & other rental

  1. Centre user and non-centre user activities WITHIN Shing Mun River applicant(s) MUST sign the Responsibilities and Health Declaration before outing. 
    1. Activities OUTSIDE of Shing Mun River applicant(s) MUST rent minimum of 2 boards for Safety reason and;
    2. MUST sign the “Responsibilities and Health Declaration” before outing and;
    3. Applicants MUST submit Route Plans to HKCRA at least ONE week in advance for approval.
    4. Application MUST be submitted via “Google Form”.
    5. HKCRA to assign types of boards according to availability.
  2. HKCRA Affiliated Clubs activities WITHIN Shing Mun River applicant(s) MUST sign the Responsibilities and Health Declaration before outing.
    1. Activities OUTSIDE of Shing Mun River applicant(s) MUST rent minimum of 2 boards for Safety reasons and;
    2. Applicants MUST submit Route Plans to HKCRA at least ONE week in advance for approval. And;
    3. HKCRA are only responsible for equipment rental. Affiliated Clubs are responsible to provide their activities with valid insurance covers.
    4. Participants who are Non centre users are required to pay the difference in rental fees to Centre Users. i.e $75 Full Day / $45 Half Day / $30 2Hours.
    5. HKCRA to assign types of boards according to availability.
    6. Application MUST be submitted via “Google Form” 2 months in advance.
  3. Qualified Coaches Conducting BRIC course.
    1. Activities WITHIN Shing Mun River only Applicant(s) MUST sign the Responsibilities and Health Declaration before outing.
    2. Coaches MUST provide valid insurance coverage if they are not registered with HKCRA.
    3. Maximum of 4 sessions x 4 hours per coach per week
  4. For Commercial organisation & Other Private Hire and NGOs & Other Non-Profit Organisations
    1. Activities WITHIN Shing Mun River applicant(s) MUST sign the Responsibilities and Health Declaration before outing.
    2. Activities OUTSIDE of Shing Mun River applicant(s) MUST rent minimum of 2 boards for Safety reason and;
    3. MUST sign the “Responsibilities and Health Declaration” before outing. and;
    4. Applicants MUST submit Route Plans to HKCRA at least ONE week in advance for approval.
    5. HKCRA are only responsible for equipment rental. Hirers are responsible to provide their activities with valid insurance covers.
    6. Application MUST be submitted via “Google Form”.
  5. Applicant(s) must fill in the Board Rowing checklist before departure and after receiving the boat. The boat and accessories must be returned on time. The installation and disassembly of the equipment must be carried out within the rental time.
  6. Coaching fee and certificate fee are not included in the price.
  7. Additional fee (transportation fee) is needed if the rowing board is using outside our centre.
  8. Normal boats can be reserved at least one week in advance of the booking. Please e-mail the application to hkcra@rowing.org.hk.
  9. Clubs can reserve a maximum of 4 hours for 1 set of boats (1x, 2x, 4-/+/x, 8+, Recreational & Coastal Boat) in a day.
  10. If Centre User would like to know the status of the HKCRA Rowing Boats, please contact for further information with HKCRA staff at 2699-7271.
  11. HKCRA will not be liable for any missing e-mail. Incomplete application form submitted or inappropriate fees paid for reservation will not be further processed. The Clubs should phone up to confirm the receipt of the application with HKCRA.
  12. If Centre User wish to bring along your own equipment, please state clearly for approval.
  13. Confirmation of the application will only be effective if payment is received by HKCRA. Clubs should receive a confirmation e-mail in confirming the reservation of the boat(s). Participants should keep their receipts until the end of the activity.
  14. Payment Methods:
    1. Cash by hand.
    2. Crossed cheque made payable to “Hong Kong, China Rowing Association”.
    3. Directly deposit to the HSBC Account (002-6-187443), please e-mail to hkcra@rowing.org.hk the payment slip with Reference No. (if using eBanking) to HKCRA with your Club’s name written on it.
  15. Under normal circumstances, application from a hirer to transfer a confirmed booking to a different time will be deemed to be a cancellation and the fees paid will be forfeited. However, duty staffs may exercise discretion to permit transfer of confirmed booking on justifiable boats provided by the hirer. Notwithstanding the aforesaid, if a confirmed booking has to be cancelled by the management owing to inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstances, the HKCRA will refund the hiring fee.
  16. Applicant(s) may use of vacant boats that is reserved but not taken up by the original hirer 30 minutes after the starting time, unless no other vacant facility is available for booking at the same time.
  17. Applicant(s) must return the craft and accessories punctually. Rigging and de-rigging should be taken part within the boat hiring period. Late return of boat will incur additional hiring fee (at an hourly rate).
  18. If the applicant(s) did not show up or did not use the rented equipment without reasonable explanations after reservations, the association reserves the right to refuse to accept subsequent appointment applications.
  19. Applicant(s) must return all hired equipment to the Centre before departure. Should there be any damage or loss, boat users must report to the Centre staff immediately. The HKCRA reserves the rights to claim damages against any hirers whose improper use of the equipment has resulted in damage or loss of the equipment.
  20. If Applicant(s), having booked a session, fails to turn up or fully utilize the boat without satisfactory explanation; HKCRA reserves the right to refuse to accept further booking.
  21. All applications are subject to the usage condition of the rowing boat facilities, the HKCRA reserves the right to modify the above procedure, the booking time and charges of rowing boat without any prior notice. In the case of any dispute, HKCRA reserve the right of final decisions.
